Antique 18k Gold Watch Chain with XL Bolt Ring and Dog Clip

Antique 18k Gold Watch Chain with XL Bolt Ring and Dog Clip
Foundational, Signature.
Our eyes are always peeled for exceptional antique gold watch chains. What does that mean? A good link — something eye-catching, but not detracting from pendants. A substantial bolt ring — for holding multiple pendants and charms. Ideally, more than one clasp, for versatility. A modern, generous length, to wear as a necklace comfortably, without the need for an extender. Finally, buttery high karat gold that feels velvety from decades of human touch.
We have ticked all these boxes — and then some — with this watch chain! We are so pleased to have found this beauty — substantial in weight and wonderfully dense in the hand. The gold is soft and satiny to the eye and touch, in a rich yellow hue with the slightest hint of peachiness. The links are clean and dimensional — an elongated, subtly twisted oval shape. It has a dog clip as well as the desirable XL bolt ring.
Suspend charms. Wear solo, with the bolt ring front and center, or to the back, allowing the links themselves to take center stage. Fasten the dog clip on any intermediate link to create a Y-necklace formation. So many possibilities.
Marked with an unidentified mark resembling an anchor or stylized initials and a well-worn mark that may be a gold hallmark. We believe this is of Continental origin. The chain came to us via Spain, and before that, France.
Pendant shown is not included.
18k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 18 inches long end to end, including the clasps
● Links are 17.4 mm long x 6.3 mm wide
● XL bolt ring is 23.5 mm diameter
● 38.6 grams
Period: 1920s/30s
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. Two links are differently shaped from the others, original to the watch chain.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
