The Deconstructed Series (XIX): Antique Victorian Silver Elongated Belcher Chain with Gold End Loops
Classic, Reimagined.
In the Deconstructed Series, classic Victorian and Edwardian long chains are reconfigured for modern versatility. Here, for the nineteenth in the series, a Victorian long guard chain—crafted in silver with a chunky yet elegant elongated belcher link—has been thoughtfully reimagined as four shorter, highly wearable chains.
Each chain is finished with newly made, heavy-gauge open loops in 14k yellow gold. These custom loops are fabricated in NYC to our specifications, designed to complement the proportions of the original chain and to accommodate the Luck and Lockets Lucky 8 Clasps and Charm Holders or other standalone clasps from your own collection.
With multiples of these chains, the possibilities abound: layer them or connect them to each other or to other antique or contemporary chains. Mix metals freely by incorporating white, yellow, or rose Lucky 8s. Add your favorite charms and pendants.
We favor antique silver for its soft, time-earned patina—something no modern finish can truly replicate. Each chain in our Deconstructed Series is carefully selected for its patina, proportions, and condition.
Chains are offered individually, though many collectors choose more than one.
Styled with Lucky 8 clasps and pendants (not included) to illustrate just a few of the layering and combination possibilities. The photo of the chains worn on the body shows the two shortest chains joined together to form a longer chain.
Unmarked.
Silver, 14k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● Chain 1: 16.5 inches long (2 open loops)/ 12.3 grams
● Chain 2: 16.62 inches long (2 open loops)/ 11.3 grams
● Chain 3: 17.5 inches long (2 open loops)/ 18.4 grams
● Chain 4: 18.62 inches long (2 open loops)/ 18.6 grams
