It’s true — a good chain is hard to find, so we made two out of one!
We were thrilled to find a long Victorian guard chain in a silken, slender, dense curb link, with a slide ornament modeled as a coiled snake set with turquoise and red gemstone eyes. The chain has that unmistakable soft, smooth look and feel that comes only with age.
As much as we appreciate an antique full-length guard chain, we decided to deconstruct it for modern wearability, creating two shorter chains that can be worn together or separately — the very concept behind our Deconstructed Chain Series.
One chain sold even before making it to the website. The remaining chain is available here — finished at the ends with custom-made gold loops ready to receive a Lucky 8 or another standalone clasp.
At just under 28 inches long, not including a clasp, the chain can be worn long or doubled. For even greater versatility, we can further modify it into two lengths, such as 22 and 6 inches (or another combination), to be worn as a necklace and bracelet, or connected to create a longer chain. We are offering a $100 courtesy toward the purchase of an XL Lucky 8 clasp together with this chain. Please inquire.
