Antique Edwardian Sapphire, Gold, and Enamel Cross Pendant by Carlo and Arthur Giuliano -- Masterwork

Antique Edwardian Sapphire, Gold, and Enamel Cross Pendant by Carlo and Arthur Giuliano -- Masterwork
Mesmerizing. Exceptional. Giuliano.
We are proud to offer an heirloom-worthy jewel, circa 1900-10, by Carlo & Arthur Giuliano, celebrated sons and successors of master jeweler Carlo Giuliano. The jewel takes the form of a stylized Greek cross with fleur-de-lis embellishments at the center. Each arm terminates in a tall cabochon sapphire that appears to glow from within. At center sits a gorgeous purple star sapphire, with its asterism most visible in last photo. Fine polychrome enameling anchors the composition.
The Giulianos possessed a masterful sense for proportion and color. Here, their craft is on full display: bold scale, harmonious palette, and crisp enameling. The craftsmanship — it goes without saying — is superb.
Though highly collectible, this is not a jewel destined to sit in the vault. It is strikingly wearable and chic in the 21st century. We especially love it suspended from a wide ribbon or on a long, large round link gold chain. Shown here with our Victorian French Gold Oval Link Long Chain ( not included).
Marked “C&AG” for Carlo & Arthur Giuliano on a lozenge on the interior of the bail.
18k gold, sapphire, enamel.
Dimensions and weight:
● 62 mm long (including bail)
● 52 mm wide
● 8.9 mm deep (deepest point)

● 17.5 grams
