Antique Edwardian Double-Sided Engraved Floral Gold Locket

Antique Edwardian Double-Sided Engraved Floral Gold Locket
Floral, Abundant.
We are always searching for finely hand-engraved lockets—and only rarely do we encounter substantial examples engraved on both sides that still retain their original, richly bloomed finish. When we spotted this American beauty, masterfully engraved across the entire exterior, we acquired it immediately for the shop. The dense, scrolling florals call to mind the ornamental language of William Morris.
One side presents a five-petaled bloom prominently at center; on the other, the same flower is tucked more discreetly within abundant foliage. Neither side is secondary—both are equally compelling, and the locket was clearly conceived to be worn in either orientation.
A rare survivor, and a strong exemplar of American craftsmanship and decorative artistry of the period, circa 1900.
Chain shown is not included.
Marked 14k.
14k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 50 mm long (including the suspension loops)
● 39.9 mm wide
● 6.3 mm deep
● 15.1 grams
Period: Edwardian.
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. The lift-out interior frames are no longer present; photographs may still be placed within. The locket closes securely.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
