A charming pair of Art Deco dress clips, fashioned in platinum, white gold, and diamonds with sapphire accents.
These petite ornaments have a stylized geometric form suggestive of ribbon ends, their silhouettes softened by scalloped edges and delicate millegrain detailing. Each is set throughout with sparkling white diamonds, with three pear-shaped blue sapphires arranged as a tiny clover. Another lovely detail? The finely engraved sides — not readily visible to the observer, but known to the wearer.
It’s a minor miracle these matching clips have stayed together for a century. We see them as decorative accents on collars, lapels, or necklines. We also see them at shirt cuffs, pockets, on a belt cinching the waist, a scarf, or even on a headband. Wear them on opposite sides or next to each other. We have not encountered clips on quite this scale before, and find their smaller size makes them particularly wearable — perfect for every day as well as special occasions.
Each ornament has a gently curved profile and is fitted with a hinged, double-pronged mechanism that snaps securely closed, allowing it to clip onto the edge of a garment without piercing the fabric.
We will include a vintage blue velvet-lined box (not the original).
