Quintessentially Victorian. The Victorians were mad for sentimental jewelry. In particular, snake jewelry became immensely fashionable after Prince Albert presented Queen Victoria with an engagement ring in the form of a snake, a symbol of eternal love.

This sentimental jewel is modeled with a scaled gold chain body and a head set with turquoise and garnet eyes. A turquoise-set heart shaped locket with a glass backed compartment on the reverse dangles from the snake’s mouth. Very special and very wearable.
