We can’t resist a good ball pendant — or a good locket! Imagine our delight to find this circa 1950s, star-studded ball gold ball locket! A golden planet under a blanket of stars.

The locket opens via a clever hinge mechanism, with 4 photo panels that swivel out from the belly of the orb. Each panel should hold 2 images back to back..

We love the soft, satiny Florentine finish and the gem-set engraved stars. The locket is dense and weighty — so tactile and soothing to hold. We like to wear this on a longer chain.

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. The seam of the ball was sealed by a lower karat gold solder, which over time presented a fine line of patina at the seam when we found this. We removed that light patina by a professional steaming, then plated the locket in a rich yellow 14k gold (the locket of course is solid 14k gold). The patina line has not re-appeared, but if it does, it can be removed by a quick steaming by a professional jeweler. The 14k loop is a new addition to replace one that was smaller and thinner.
