Vintage High Karat Gold Coiled Snake Bangle with Diamonds
Alluring, Rich.
An age-old jewel motif is revived in this alluring coiled snake bangle. White rose cut diamonds shine bright against the rich high karat yellow gold. We are reminded of the spiral snake bracelets of Ancient Egypt in the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. (See examples at the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art).
The bangle is not hinged or clasped; simply slip onto the wrist via the gap between the head and tail. Super chic worn higher on the arm, too — think Cleopatra! Slightly adjustable by gentle pressure.
Marked with unidentified mark. (We previously had a very similar example that was of Egyptian origin).
