(SOLD) Antique Edwardian Gold Scent Bottle Pendant with Diamond and Ruby Accents

(SOLD) Antique Edwardian Gold Scent Bottle Pendant with Diamond and Ruby Accents
Unique, Exclamatory.
A petite jewel with outsized charm. This irresistible scent bottle pendant, circa 1900, is crafted in warm 18k gold with a smooth, satin surface that glows softly against the skin. A tapered line of rose-cut diamonds leads the eye to a bright pop of color: a vivid ruby. Together, they form a playful exclamation point — a punctuation of joy, surprise, outrage, what-have-you. While question mark jewels do occasionally appear (and we have an outstanding “?” bangle in the shop), this is the first exclamation point jewel we’ve encountered. It was an immediate must-have.
Perhaps originally worn on a chatelaine, this example retains its period suspension chain and ring, allowing it to hang gracefully from your chain of choice. Incredibly, the threaded top and bottle have stayed together for more than a century. What was once kept inside? Perfume? Scented oil? Smelling salts? We can only imagine.
We love this as a standalone statement or as part of a layered story. Surely one-of-a-kind and a conversation starter.
Unmarked.
18k gold, chain and loop test a bit lower (at least 14k), diamond, ruby.
Dimensions and weight:
● 25.5 mm long (not including chain and loop)/ 53 mm long (total drop)
● 14.6 mm wide (not including loops on sides)
● 8 mm deep
● 4 grams
Period: Edwardian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. There is a small hairline at the stopper; our jeweler has opined that it is stable with reasonable care when using the stopper — normal and acceptable wear for this type of functional pendant, at this age. Please see the final photo for a close-up view.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
