(SOLD) Antique French Versatile Long Gold Chain

(SOLD) Antique French Versatile Long Gold Chain
Jewelry Wardrobe MVP
The quest for the antique French chain — the one that goes with nearly everything, that elevates but never overwhelms — ends here. Consider this your O-positive of antique gold chains: universally compatible, endlessly useful, classically elegant.
This link is anything but basic. It’s substantial enough to stand alone, yet subtle enough to pair with your favorite antique pendants, lockets, or charms without stealing the show. It enhances without detracting — and that’s no small feat.
Once part of a full-length French sautoir, this section was separated some time ago and now stands beautifully on its own. The length is perfect for wrapping twice — wear it staggered, even, or doubled up through the bail of a chunky Victorian locket instead of a book chain. Try layering multiple pendants — one on each staggered length and one on the spring ring clasp, which conveniently doubles as a charm holder. Instant, loaded neck stack. Truly, this is the MVP of your jewelry wardrobe.
Pendants/lockets shown are not included.
Marked with French eagle’s head on both the clasp and end loop.
18k gold
Dimensions and weight:
● 42 inches long
● 3.2 mm wide/deep
● 25.6 grams
Period: Edwardian
* Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age commensurate wear may be present. The clasp and adjacent link were slightly rosier in tone (from heat used to close the adjacent link); we discreetly plated that small section to harmonize the color. This chain was once part of a longer sautoir — the other, shorter section (approximately 20 inches long) will also be made available soon (now also SOLD). Currently, it has a contemporary lobster clasp, which we will replace with a period, French dog clip. Please inquire if interested.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
