(SOLD) Antique Double Navette Gold Sautoir Long Chain

(SOLD) Antique Double Navette Gold Sautoir Long Chain
Additional view of the chain worn on the body is forthcoming. Please ask us for photos sooner if needed.
Timeless. Elegant.
There’s a particular joy in a true sautoir — the drama of its length, the way it moves with you, the countless ways to wear it. This full-length beauty is composed of airy double navette links, their elongated almond shapes joined by chain to create a fluid, rhythmic design. The stations shimmer softly as the sautoir moves with the body — a cascade of golden paillettes.
Sautoirs were the height of Belle Époque style, worn long and loose, draped two or three times around the neck, or even styled as a belt. Though from a bygone era, this chain feels strikingly modern thanks to its streamlined design. Two clasps — one spring ring and one dog clip — add to its versatility, allowing you to suspend charms or pendants, or to play with styling. Wear it with anything and everything: solo for understated drama or stacked for a layered, curated look. Timelessly chic.
Marked with a French weevil import mark on the chain (assayed in Nancy, France) and a French split boar’s head/eagle’s head hallmark on the spring ring clasp (commonly seen on antique French spring ring clasps).
18k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 60 inches long
● Each navette link is 4.5 mm wide × 14.5 mm long
● 33.7 grams
Period: Early 20th Century
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age commensurate wear may be present. On close inspection, we noticed a couple of areas where the chains between navettes are slightly longer; we’ve opted to keep the chain as we found it, preserving its history rather than removing any links to conform the lengths.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
