(SOLD) Antique French Early 19th Century Gold and Citrine Seal Fob Pendant, with Sea Serpents

Whimsical, Fantastical.

This gorgeous and distinctively French seal fob is one of our favorite treasures from our last trip to Paris. The large, open shape of the fob and the use of grainetti and fantastical beasts are very much of the period, circa 1820s. Here, four sinuous sea serpents surmount a deep, faceted, unengraved citrine — ready for personalization if so desired.

Wear this rare, 200 year old jewel on a period Georgian chain, long, or short or anything in between. Make this a personal signature piece.

Marked with the French ram’s head (in use 1819-38, Paris) and unidentified maker’s mark.

Chain shown not included.

18k gold, citrine.

Dimensions and weight:

● 45 mm long

● 41.3 mm wide

● 29 mm deep

● 24.7 grams

Period: Georgian

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. We observe under close inspection a slight bend at the gold bezel surrounding the citrine, not of structural significance or readily apparent (see second photo).

*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
