For the collector of Victorian banded agate, this grandly scaled brooch/pendant with a locket back, circa 1860-70, is a special find. The hand carved agates are strikingly black and white, with the trio of amphora-shaped drops adding movement. Beautiful hand engraved foliate embellishments are applied with just the right, light touch. The locket compartment on the reverse may be carefully opened to place a personal memento to the interior.

We love this worn on a black cord or ribbon at the throat, with the drops swaying gently with the body. We adore this pinned to the lapel of a black blazer, a declaration of individual taste.
