Antique Georgian Diamond Urn "Semper Fidelis" Scent Bottle Pendant

We adore Georgian urn jewelry, functional jewelry, and sentimental jewelry. Here we have all three, wrapped into one!
Where to begin? This scent bottle pendant, circa 1800, is graced with a twinkling rose cut diamond urn set upon a gently domed lozenge of dark blue glass. On the reverse, a hand engraved note promises, “Semper Fidelis” (Latin, “Always Faithful”). Swoon!
The pendant is outlined in unusual open gold work resembling an intricate fancy link chain! The hinged lid at the top opens to reveal a well. There is not enough space to accomodate liquid, but there is just enough room for a small piece of cotton spritzed with a favorite fragrance (ours at the moment is the ever classic Eau d’hadrien by Goutal Paris). Or try an essential oil, such as soothing lavender.
A very special piece indeed for the collector — and oh so wearable!

14/15k gold, rose cut diamond, glass, 9/10k gold on the suspension chain (a later replacement).
