This large locket, circa 1900, is so brilliant — visually striking and conveying the most romantic hidden vow of eternal, unbreakable love.

When we first glimpsed this locket, we were immediately captivated by the clarity of the outline — in the form of a shield, symbolic of protection and strength. Looking closer, we saw that the shield is bordered by hand-engraved forget-me-nots — symbolic of true love. We love love love sentimental jewels, and we were irrevocably hooked.

Beyond the symbolism, we adore the design, with echoes of Jugendstil. The Edwardian garland swag is rendered here in minimalist, geometric terms — simple linear gold wire and bezel set gemstones. A cabochon sapphire is the focal point, in a smooth drop of luminous blue.

Without a doubt, this is one of the loveliest and most distinctive lockets we have acquired. Place your love tokens in the two compartments inside. Both rims are present, as well as one glass.
