Antique, with a thoroughly modern vibe. This Edwardian bangle, circa 1908, is a charming and particularly wearable example of the equestrian and sporting themed jewelry popular in the era. The bangle is rendered as a horseshoe nail, studded with 5 diamonds (estimated tcw .45). The point of the nail is suggestive of the end of a whip, curled against the curve of the nail.
Even better, this bangle is a piece of Americana, made by the firm of L. Fritzsche & Company, in Newark, New Jersey, the country’s fine jewelry capital at the time.
Bangle snaps shut and has a later added figure 8 security latch.
